extended validation certificate

Upon arrival to the UK, you would be required to show your travel document and any relevant document to support your entrance to the UK. The UKBA officers scan passports and carry out checks on passenger details to make sure only those people who have the right to enter the United Kingdom are allowed to do so.

The UKBA officers will need to check your passport or other travel document even if you hold a United Kingdom passport or one issued by another country in the European Union (EU) or European Economic Area (EEA).
