The most important part of the application is the documentation to support your application, and the documents must be original as copies are not allowed, even attested copies. The Home Office will refuse your application if you have not supplied correct and original documents.
The onus is on the applicant to provide the correct documents. In certain circumstances you may be unable to supply the combination of documents above, for example, if you are still on maternity leave and no birth certificate has been issued. In this case, you should read the policy guidance for details of other evidence that the Home Office may accept.
You must send two recent passport photographs and your passport, along with proof of the following:
a) Proof of £1,000,000 of your own money - You must prove you have £1,000,000 of your own money, with supporting evidence to show the following:
· money;
· source of money;
· money that can be transferred;
· joint funding.
b) Proof of 2,000,000 in assets and £1,000,000 of borrowed money - You must prove you have £2,000,000 in assets and £1,000,000 of borrowed money, with the letter from an authorised financial institution in the United Kingdom.
When making an application for an extension, you must supply information and documents from one of the following:
- investment;
- balance of money to a maximum value of £250,000;
- investment made within three months;
- investment maintained.
