As a migrant of a Tier 1 Investor, the following conditions applies (please note this have been taken from the UK Home Office website and subject to changes and depends on your circumstances):

  • you must have no recourse to public funds, which means you will not be able to claim most benefits paid by the state;
  • you must register with the police if this is needed by paragraph 326 in part 10 of the immigration rules; and
  • you may not be not employed as a doctor in training.

Changes to the new Tier 1 Investor, means that if you have been given permission on the old category, then you are excluded from getting work in the United Kingdom. However, if you have been successful under the Tier 1 Investor category and have been successful to obtain an extension, then you would be allowed. Dependants need to meet the rules set out, please see the dependant section.
